CANADA AND BRAZIL
IT’S AWARD SEASON IN BRAZIL!!
HAPPY HOUR WITH COX AUTOMOTIVE? YES, INDEED!
NEWS
After successfully launching the ‘KBB Best Resale Value’ awards in 2020 as a way to strengthen brand awareness for both consumers and the industry, the team in Brazil has opened “award season” with the second year of the those awards and a new campaign for influencers called ‘Auto Experts’.
Like last year, the Best Resale Value 2021 is a result of a strategic partneship between KBB Brazil and Quatro Rodas magazine, the most important brazilian car magazine and a strong media publication to reveal the winners. There were more than 140 car models divided into 22 categories eligible to participate in this year’s edition, with 15 different OEMs winning at least one category for the Best Resale Value 2021. A live, online ceremony to celebrate their achiviements and deliver the trophies is set to occur on May 26th.
Named ‘Auto Experts 2021,’ this award consists of a ranking-style public voting system to identify the top-3 favourite influencers of our audience within a list of 14 selected for this first edition. The goal is to leverage each influencer’s power to engage their followers to participate in the voting, thus expanding KBB’s reach within socia media, and the results are already extremely positive after just the first weekend of voting.
Thus far, there have already been over 10,000 participations on the award’s survey platform and more than 1,000 more followers have joined the KBB Brazil instagram account. With the campaign running until May 10, this new effort still has plenty of time to reach even higher results and the team cannot wait to reward the top three influencers that finish with the most votes in a special live event on KBB Brasil’s instagram profile on May 28th.
However, that is not the only award KBB Brazil is presenting this year. The team has also launched a brand-new award focused on building valuable relationships with prominent digital influencers who share the same editorial ethics and mission as KBB - to enhance the car consumer journey in Brazil with high quality content.
Parallel to the award season, Cox Automotive Brazil is also engaged in finding new and creative ways to strengthen its connections with dealerships to promote the vast array of services that the CoxForYou platform is able to provide for them - and what better way to reach current and new partners than inviting them to a Happy Hour where we can combine leisure and business?
Since the pandemic limited the team’s possibilities to gather with business partners in person, new virtual meetings have been organied with dealers throughout Brazil. Called the ‘Cox Virtual Happy Hour Tour,’ this event has already engaged hundreds of participants since the end of March as an opportunuty for dealers to enjoy drinks and snacks (provided by Cox Automotivevia food delivery services), win prizes and receive a comprehensive presentation of all the advantages they could benefit from with CoxForYou solutions.
Everybody is welcome to participate and ask questions about our services and thus far engagement has been very strong! Cox Virtual Happy Hour Tour is going to continue its path with key regions of the country being selected where we can expand Cox Automotive’s presence!

TAKING TIME TO CELEBRATE OUR WINS!
Wrapping up the first quarter provided the Canadian Product team with an opportunity to reflect on its various achievements and celebrate some significant wins!
Lead by Stephanie Turner, Head of Product for Canada and Brazil, the team all came together virtually to complete a mural of all the Q1 achievements they could think of that were product related. According to Stephanie, it was “a fun chance for everyone to take a step back, get away from the day-to-day pressures and to-do lists and just appreciate the good things they helped accomplish in Q1.”
We’re extremely proud of the Product team and their accomplishments but we also know that all of our teams are contributing in similar ways – imagine how big the board would need to be if we did this exercise across all of our teams!
For now, please enjoy learning about a few of the big wins identified through this exercise and consider this idea for future opportunities to sit down as a team and appreciate the work that we all do to help Cox Automotive transform the way the world buys, sells, owns and uses cars.

LAUNCHING SIMULCAST 2.0
In order to deliver a better buying and selling experience to our customers as our auctions shift to a more digital model, the outdated legacy Simulcast system was replaced with a new solution (in partnership with UK partner Kingfisher) Simulcast 2.0 and launched in our Halifax auction on March 26. With plans to roll out across Canada throughout the year, this system will deliver a better overall user experience, improved UI and provide more data to help better represent the vehicles that sell digitally via Simulcast for Manheim auctions!
LAUNCHING DEALERTRACK’S FRAUD SOLUTION
To help our dealers in the awareness and prevention of fraud, the team worked with a partner to build a solution focused on digital identity verification that leverages the Dealertrack data to create warning flags around suspicious deal behavior, and also data validation across other applications and dealerships.
By partnering with EnStream, the solution can assist with customer identification by validating the information in the deal such as the customer name, address and date-of-birth.
This data, when combined with a credit bureau, does meet FINTRAC’S dual-process method of verifying a customer’s identity and red flags, which will leverage our own internal data, will provide lenders with greater insight into buyer behavior and provide them with any warnings related to that deal.
LAUNCHING KBB.CA’S DIGITAL RETAILING AND BUILD & PRICE
After launching in May of last year, the KBB.CA team has been working hard to grow the site and brand in Canada. As the next step in the site’s growth, the team needed some new tools to increase the engagement level of consumers as well as provide dealers with the ability to start the deal online from the KBB marketplace.
By integrating a new Digital Retailing Payment Driver, consumers can now view vehicles for sale, calculate their payments and submit a request (lead) to contact a dealer - with the ability to submit a credit application and add digital documents also planned for future implementation.
In addition, a new Build & Price application embedded within our DDC dealer websites was launched earlier this year. This allows consumers to build a new vehicle from scratch and continue their journey all the way to digital retailing payment calculations. The Build & Price solution is the result of strong collaboration and powerful integrations between the KBB catalogue and Digital Retailing enables our dealer clients to get leads for consumers that want a new vehicle that’s not currently in their inventory so they don’t lose the client!
