SAY THAT?

Our new “Can I Say That?” campaign aims to encourage every team member across International to find out more about each other’s differences.


We want to celebrate diversity within our workplace and inspire action for real change that helps create an inclusive organisation.

To help us achieve this, our Inclusion, Diversity and Equity programme across Cox Automotive International has three key areas of focus: Educate, Celebrate and Inspire. Here in Inter.Com to launch our ‘Can I Say That?’ campaign, we explore these three pillars.

To be inclusive is to be fully accepting of everyone’s individuality. We must make sure that we remove any barriers that inhibit a team member’s opportunities to be themselves at work. This means that we fully embrace all differences and similarities – getting rid of discrimination and intolerance and creating an environment that celebrates people’s uniqueness and allows them to succeed within Cox Automotive.


To create a diverse workforce means that we offer equal opportunities for everyone – regardless of characteristics such as race, sexuality, religious beliefs, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, sex or disability. With diversity brings different ideas, skills and experience – meaning we have more team members prepared to challenge the status quo. Here at Cox Automotive, we really do want to challenge the status quo.


Finally, what is the difference between ‘equity’ and ‘equality’? If we are to treat everyone ‘equally’, then we treat everyone the same. But when we treat everyone equitably – we focus on individual needs. In a diverse workforce, team members require support in different ways. By being equitable, we are acknowledging that everyone has different needs, experiences and opportunities.

Following our ‘Can I Say That?’ campaign and after you have had the opportunity to learn more about inclusion, diversity and equity, we will be asking teams across the International business to challenge themselves in creating a more inclusive and equitable environment for team members or customers… or both!

More information about the Team Challenge will follow, but as you watch our videos and read the information that is shared throughout this campaign, start thinking about what changes you as a team could make to be more inclusive.

We want to give everyone the opportunity to find out more about each other and get familiar with exploring each other’s backgrounds, hobbies, families and experiences.


By doing so, we will all become more comfortable with asking each other questions and celebrating what differences we all have, as well as what we might have in common.


That is why we’re launching our first-ever International Cox Coffee Chat as part of our ‘Can I Say That? campaign!



By signing up, you will take part in a 30-minute conversation with another team member from anywhere across Cox Automotive International. We will send you some tips on how to get the conversation started, but essentially, we just want you to get to know each other.
